They stepped off the plane already armed, though it would take more travel and toil to get out into the wilderness beyond the borders of the city that was their true destination. But of course, like all sensible travelers and explorers, they immediately forgot to raise their camera to their eye or put pencil to sketch pad when the first unfamiliar horned head came into view. They simply enjoyed the moment and their first glimpse of a jackalope in person, and they imagined everything else they might see on their vacation.
