The cake, luminous white and frosting-swirled, appeared to be ordinary enough as Leslie leaned in to regard the rainbow-sprinkle-crusted letters that spelled out their own name on the top amid an alphabet sea. Polite interest turned into giggles of delight as the next judge came in range of the cake’s psychic field, and the letters on the top glided through waves of frosting to spell out his name in turn.
