"Sam and I can man the kill box," Barton says, "but you gotta give us something to shoot at." Sam flashes him a look; they're both firing continuously at the Hydra agents and their black SUVs, the perimeter within the perimeter. Between shots, Barton shrugs. "You're not bored?"

"I can make a path to evacuate," Bucky says, and Sam thinks, irrationally, no. No, don't go in. He's got eyes on Bucky, where he's tearing into that Hydra perimeter to get at the front doors. Even as Maria confirms, Bucky makes a break for it, metal arm up to shield his head. He just smashes clean through the glass doors, into the deserted lobby, and out of sight.
"Jesus fuck," Sam mutters.
