Some Ground Rules

On Civility: I value kindness and I require good manners. This is my digital living room, in which we can hang out, tell stories, make stuff, and discuss ideas and experiences. If you wouldn't say or do something in the home of a stranger or casual acquaintance, you probably should not do it here. Misunderstandings happen; when they do, people apologize, seek to understand what went wrong, and do what they can to make things better. Rude people are told to leave and are not invited to return.

On Fandom Wank: nope. Talking about problems in fandom is a good thing, and everyone has different reactions to canon,
The Powers That Be, fandom, and fan creators. There may be times when someone here wants to talk about criticisms either in posts or comments. Consider the venue before you bring up negative points in otherwise positive posts; try not to spoil anyone's squee needlessly in their own space. Drama for its own sake and deliberately hurtful behavior has no place here.

Here, we believe that fiction is a place to explore all sorts of things, even if you or someone else thinks those things are wrong, gross, or otherwise unacceptable. No creator is obligated to disclose personal history to justify their story choices; you do not have to be this traumatized to ride. Ship wars and similar fandom infighting absolutely will not be tolerated here. Everyone gets to have their own fun. As we fandom olds say: don't like, don't read.
