When asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, her answer of “a dog” remained consistent despite the reactions of adults: indulgent at five, disapproving at twelve, worried at eighteen. Efforts to steer her toward dog training or veterinary school or even theater proved useless, though she would admit the outdoorsmanship classes--“Maybe she just needs to burn off some energy outside?”--proved quite useful. After all, it took many days of hiking and tracking even to find the werewolves’ den to present herself to them.
