Done This Week

How is it possible for a short week to feel this long? Even the nice bits felt like too much. I'm possibly not doing great.

Lewisia: 3 new pieces written, trying to put an extended arc together and mostly failing

Gratitude journaling: 35 new entries

Tumblr queue: 35 posts added

Day job: 31.5 hours

Cooking: nothing special for work lunches, but I made edible chocolate chip cookie dough, the snack food of sadness, and a rather elaborate attempt at lo mein which failed to meet my expectations

Reading: rereading Pamela Ribon's Going in Circles, one of those books that doesn't make a lot of sense with the rest of my reading preference, until you think of it as being a story of recovery and found family with roller derby, and then it seems pretty on-brand. Listening to The Hidden Almanac podcast from the beginning.

Recording: edited and posted podfic of Ubergrippen, a Mad Max: Fury Road fic

Other: assembled my new chair; went grocery shopping; rebuilt podcast subscription list on ipad approximately fifty-three times in one day *shrieking*
scrubjayspeaks: photo of a toddler holding an orange tabby cat (baby Joyce)

plague journaling

I'm entirely late to the party, as always, but I was recced Some Good News. It's been giving me a giggle this afternoon. It's cheery and silly and touching.

Picked a bunch of flowers to press. I didn't think I would have enough to fill up the press, but I actually had a hard time fitting them all in. I might build myself something bigger sometime--plywood and wingnuts--so I have room to do fancy layouts of plants. I did put these ones on watercolor paper. I'm hoping the pigments that ooze out as they dry will leave some interesting patterns on the paper after the flowers come off. I can paint and ink around them after that. A project!

Let's just have a nice afternoon, please and thank. Just for a little while.
