Today's Keyboard Smash

Happy Halloween, my darlings! I have nothing to complain of, today of all days. The moon is full again. Light strings and candles are lit. Everything is decorated with bats, including yours truly.

I hope this harvest brings good things into your lives and sees you through the winter to come. We are still alive. There is still light. We can make it through.

A field of withering pumpkin vines, full of Halloween decorations. Lights have been strung around to illuminate cut-out bats and buckets painted like jack-o-lanterns.

A display of jack-o-lanterns on sections of cut log and a straw bale. Several small, individual zip-top bags of candy have been laid out for trick-or-treaters to take.

A bushel basket has been suspended under a large fake spider. The basket is full of small pumpkins. The whole mess has been festooned with fake cobwebs.

The front door of our house, painted dark green, a light lit on either side of it. A black wreath hangs in the middle of it. The door and surrounding walls have been decorated with various black felt bat cut-outs.
