Lake Lewisia #367
The spring brought great clouds and flocks of insects, hatching or emerging from hibernation or manifesting through mysterious means in the warm rafters of otherwise still-chilly houses. Butterflies rose from flower fields in heavy mats capable of lifting small children to mildly perilous heights. Vast lunar moths glided by, all soft green and silver, on warm nights, and praying mantids droned their blessings with the cacophony of a dozen choir lofts and temple inner sanctums at once.
