Lake Lewisia #620

The postal service wishes to inform the general public of a small, almost certainly harmless mix-up in the local sorting facility by a well-meaning group of employees. Apparently, the plan was to distribute incoming packages to their intended eventual recipients ahead of schedule and beat various Solstice gift bottlenecks, only they used a faulty crystal ball to determine who should receive what. We are asking that everyone return packages for resorting, particularly whoever received young Kelsie Stevens's backyard basilisk keeping kit, as the eggs contained are very sensitive to temperature changes.

Today's Keyboard Smash

I had the distinct pleasure of NOT participating in the team Secret Santa exchange today but being allowed to attend. Which means I didn't have to stress about finding a gift for someone I definitely don't know well enough to be shopping for. Nor did I have to receive a well-intentioned but almost certainly unnecessary gift of random clutter from someone. (Last year, I did participate. I had to give to one boss and receive from the other, which was rather harrowing as the new kid on the team.)

What I did get to do was spend a half hour being paid to watch people open gifts, and then I left with some candy provided for everyone. Which are really all the good parts of a workplace gift exchange anyway. Also, someone left slices of assorted homemade pound cake in the breakroom, individually bagged, so I came home with many tasty treats.
