Dog's Ear didn't specialize in comics, but it was the closest thing in the area and could be prevailed upon to order weekly if you brought treats for the resident mutts often enough. The secondary benefit of befriending the dogs, who frequently patrolled between the stacks, was their noses for unexpected--indeed, apparently unordered--recommendations. Following a dog might lead you to a slim single issue seemingly lost between unrelated hardcovers, found nowhere in the inventory, which meant newly-hooked readers had to keep the treats coming if they wanted to know what happened next.
