Done This Week
Oh. Oh, friends. Vacation. It's so good. Every day has seemed to last for ages, in the best possible way. I even--especially!--enjoyed the day the power was out for almost twelve hours. I still have two more days (we're not going to worry about jury duty, we'll deal with it, it's fine), which will be full of projects and rest and more projects. It is an embarrassment of riches.
I have literally never taken a vacation from work before. I've carefully arranged my work schedule to accommodate plans, and I've done vacation type things whilst unemployed. But I have never just...taken a week off work...because I want to...? *mind blown* My sense of well-being during this cannot be converted to mere metrics. This is the best decision I've ever made. I am going to find ways to do this, like, quarterly. Somehow. I am going to do this.
Lewisia: 6 new pieces written, and I really need to remember how much it helps to brainstorm ahead of time and jot down a few words of what I'd like to do (for the bingo card prompts) instead of trying to think of something and write it out in its final form at the same time
Gratitude journaling: 35 new entries
Tumblr queue: 35 posts added
Day job: 21 hours, moohoohaha
Cleaning: finished sorting all Pokemon cards and picked out which ones are getting framed (three more franchises to go, but with far fewer cards)
Crafting: made ocean-themed window hanging
Gardening: cleared rubble from the new field, pulled weeds in the flower garden, bought the ash tree, placed stakes where trees and bushes will get planted
Gifts Received: matching picture frames for the Pokemon cards, along with archival adhesive squares and framing corners for arranging the cards; an ergonomic handheld seed spreading hopper; copy of this year's Old Farmer's Almanac; new windshield wipers for the car; socks--heathered red, blue and pink octopus, incomprehensible bicycles
