Done This Week
Hnnnngggg…
So my dad’s been in the hospital for the past week due to pneumonia. It’s, uh, not looking good? I mean, it’s hard to say, because he’s had some close calls before. But we’re pretty much on death watch at this point.
Meanwhile, I got the job. Which came with a frankly astonishing pay raise. I mean, I knew the listed range would be higher than what I’m at now regardless. But my two new bosses fought hard to get me into the higher end of that range. Which. Hooooly shit. Okay. That’s cool. I don’t officially start for two weeks, though.
Am I feeling approximately eight million tons of pressure in several different directions? Why yes, yes I am. If it ever lets up, I’m probably going to liquefy like a blobfish brought up from the depths.
The local donut shop had a particularly delicious set of monthly specials.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces written, queued up September’s posts
Day job: 34 hours again thanks to the holiday
Gardening: picked up a trailer load of mulch at the local giveaway, pandemic garden club post
Listening: Favourite Worst Nightmare by Arctic Monkeys (there’s a particular set of artists that featured heavily in my Pandora stations circa 2014/2015, many of whom I never bought an album, but who are forever entwined with that time and also with my fandom experiences, so I’m trying to pick up some of the standout ones)
Other: unloaded hay twice
