Lake Lewisia #283

While the history of the Lake Lewisia region owed much of its drama and riches to the combined industries of logging and trapping, like much of the area to which it belonged, a mining boom had made a mark on the land and people as well. Several abandoned mines still dotted the landscape, scars from slivers driven into the flesh and pulled free again, and the adventurous sometimes ventured past the warning signs and barricades. The veins of silver and of truth had been mined dry, and the old timbers within the tunnels held up walls of only dark and uncertainty, treasures no one would cross a nation to retrieve now.
