Lake Lewisia #304
No one had been brave enough to mow down the corn maze, not even when they made their excuses to leave it up through the end of November. As the first rains of the season brought grass shoots out in tender green armies, the damp left black mold on the dry stalks, and they thought time and the elements would do the work for them. Before spring could even take hold, though, vines had fortified the stalks, and the fragile corn maze began to look more like a hedge, and more like a permanent fixture.
