Lake Lewisia #545

This weekend, the Summer Art Walk will be held throughout the downtown area, with artwork hosted at local businesses and galleries, as well as snacks and special deals for attendees. Portals will be available to let you walk into and explore a variety of artworks, from oil still-lifes to watercolor landscapes and more, and there are themed guides available on an assortment of topics, such as a tasting tour of artistic food or petting a sampling of unreal animals. We encourage you to make advance arrangements if you intend to walk any of the larger pieces, such as “Mountains of UnderEarth” or “The Kingdom of Leviathans,” which can turn into long-term journeys depending on your commitment, distractibility, or susceptibility to quests.

Today's Keyboard Smash

There's a brushfire in town. Don't know what started it. It's burned a couple of houses already. (Not near me by any stretch of the imagination, so I'm fine.) I found out about it when it knocked out power at work. Which takes doing, because we share the airport's grid. I'm going to have to call the emergency plant hotline tomorrow morning to see if we've got power and therefore can work. Wouldn't mind a day off, you know, if it's all the same to the universe.

It's going to get gnarly in California this summer. Pandemic still raging as fire season gets into full swing? Jesus tapdancing christ, just saw us off the mainland and let us drift out to sea now. It's going to be a hard year, and we're only halfway through it.
