Daily Perimeter Patrol

Almost two years after I started befriending her, the local wandering cat is my very good Noise Cat. I still don't know who she belongs to, and I barely resist the urge to straight up steal her so nothing can hurt her. But she is, sadly, an outside cat and not mine. Still. She visits often and makes biscuits if my lap is available.

The chronic pain support group met at Sea Mink Pastries, in a corner where the ovens kept things warm and they could rearrange furniture to accommodate everyone. Last week, the fae among them had spoken about the pain of constant iron exposure in a city, then a former mermaid commiserated with other wheelchair users about wet weather travel. They traded gentle touches and kind looks, the tendernesses of those who understood down in their aching bones.
