He sank into the tub, steam ringing his head once it was the only part of him left above water. His muscles unknotted one by one, and the surface tension of his skin eased after a day of holding him together. Rainbows glinted faintly off the oil slick suspended on the water’s surface, all that remained of his now painless and relaxed corporeal form.
