Pressed on all sides by the crowd, she almost missed the pulse of light by her hand but darted out toward it just as the purple glow began to fade. The glow exploded by unknown mechanism into a starburst of shifting colors, one of dozens around the stadium. Her next touch elicited a sweeping hum of musical tone, and from the stage, the darkness-shrouded members of Virtual Light echoed it in the start of a technicolor feedback loop.
