While honor system payments were common throughout Lewisia, no store relied on them more than the Greenwood Apothecary. The employees were all very helpful, ready to answer questions, suggest remedies for all manner of ailments, or just chat about bygone days when they had been living people. The ghostly status of much of the staff, including the owner, did make taking payments inconvenient at times, but if you dropped your money in the till and bagged your own purchases without fuss, you might be treated to a complementary piece of penny candy in thanks.
