ETA: I should probably make more of a point about the names--I'm joycesully over on tumblr, I write fic as freshbakedlady, and I'm one or the other on any other service you care to think of. See the sidebar or the profile for various links.

Tumblr shenanigan background... )

To those who may follow me over here from Tumblr, thanks for wandering after me into a new wilderness. I will make an effort to post more regularly here about things that aren't my Lake Lewisia microfiction. (But hey, great news: daily fiction available here!) I'm very much still learning my way around here. I'm going to reach out to some of the DW veterans to see...what it is we do here. God knows, it would be lovely to have actual interactions more robust than what we cobbled together on Tumblr.

Yeah, so I just spent a few hours going through (ohgodohgod) 2 out of 12 pages of blogs I follow on tumblr, seeing who has posted alternate site links. They aren't all dw users--Instagram and Twitter just got their fair share of panic follows from me as well. But yeah, dw is definitely turning into my fandom hub, if not the hub for the community as a whole.

There's probably some etiquette about introducing oneself upon following here. Please insert some version of a gif for grabbing your hand, shouting "come with me if you want to live," and taking off at a dead run, in lieu of actually communicating like a human being.

I mean, we aren't exactly strangers--you've probably seen me carrying on in the tags of something I reblogged from you. *waves* Hello again! I swear I'm only slightly feral!

All she wanted was a quicker way to get home after school, some shortcut that would shave a few minutes off the walk. Each day, she tested a new modified route, telling herself that all that time sunk into the search and the wandering would be worth it eventually. That time sink should have been a warning: when she finally found the shortcut, it took her a very long time indeed to find her way home again, and she did not arrive as the same person who had left school so long ago.
