scrubjayspeaks: hand holding pen over notebook (done this week)
Week days are pointless things to be endured. Weekends are for sweating in the garden and then collapsing on the couch with Pokemon. There are worse lives I could be leading, all told.

Lewisia: 3 new pieces written--I'm starting to realize that I need to be writing summer pieces now and my brain is breaking somewhat in response

Gratitude journaling: 35 new entries

Tumblr queue: 35 posts added

Day job: 42 hours

Cooking: biscuits cut in the shape of stars, because I need happiness, damn it, and egg salad because I need protein

Gardening: planted the last seeds for butterfly garden, went absolutely buck wild with repotting things and moving them out of the office, hands are all cut to hell now

Reading: halfway through Transfigurations by Resonant, read by rhi cauldrie, which feels like a relic from the Dark Ages

I just want to go to the fucking library again?! I want to sit in their air conditioning and read a slightly outdated copy of Bon Appetit while downloading podcast episodes to my tablet on free wifi. I want to request a completely unreasonable number of movies and audiobooks and churn through them in, like, a week, while I check out a book and renew it as many times as I'm allowed while still never managing to read it.

That's how I spend my Thursdays. I know, each week, that I'll get off work on Thursday and I'll go to the library for a couple hours. I want to do that.

Which is to say, I understand why people are freaking out about wanting their routines back. Their bowling alleys and their hair and nail salons and their bars. I too want to have my mundane pleasures.

I mean, I don't understand protesting about it. Because

a) I don't want to die,

b) I don't want to be the reason anybody else dies, and

c) I'm not enough of an ASSHOLE to say that a) OR b) are reasonable risks in exchange for going to the library.

Yes, the lockdown sucks in any number of ways. You're not having fun. Get over yourselves. Rant about it online like a decent shut-in the way the rest of us do and move on. *grumble grumble*
