scrubjayspeaks: hand holding pen over notebook (done this week)
This week was way too much at work and way too much, in an entirely different and thankfully less unpleasant way, at home on the weekend. I have spent so much damn money in the past month and a half??? Mostly on nice things--only a little of it was for the most recent unpleasantness with the car--but still. I need things to slow down significantly for at least two weeks, please and thank.

Lewisia: 3 new pieces written--if I would just sit and turn everything else off, I would be able to churn these out any time I fancied, but nooooo, I insist on filling my life with noise right up until Saturday afternoon when they're "due"

Gratitude journaling: 35 new entries

Tumblr queue: 35 posts added

Day job: 41.25 hours, because now even I am eager to run off even a few minutes early

Art: took photos of the pumpkin patch and edited them up to look fancy

Gardening: Pandemic Garden Club thread; repotted succulents as needed

Reading: finished reading If They Haven't Learned Your Name by silentwalrus, a Steve/Bucky fic over 200k, which has been keeping me company on work breaks off and on for the year that I've been at the new job, amazing, fantastic, will probably turn right around and start listening to the podfic of it

Other: trip out of town for eye doctor appointments

My succulent club had their first virtual meeting today. It was a very good meeting by any standard, with a guest speaker I like giving a talk on the subject of succulents in containers versus in the ground, which is immediately relevant to my interests. It was especially good, though, because it gave me back my one social event of the month. My one little thing that makes me feel like I have a community in the brickspace world, not just the virtual one.

(Does this still qualify as brickspace, if that's where I first met the people? At what point would it just get folded into the rest of my virtual world? These are more high-level questions than I am capable of answering. I am but a humble plant freak.)

Watching a group of sixty some odd people, most of them elderly, try to sort out a Zoom meeting is, if you let it be, quality entertainment. I didn't have any video or audio hooked up on my end, but several other people did. Whether they realized it or not. It took the first fifteen minutes or so to get everything under control and all the audience properly muted. I wasn't in a rush, though. I had snacks.

Man, I've missed my fellow plant freaks. Also, now I have ideas for building raised beds for the succulents. Because I definitely needed another gardening project on my plate. (✧ᴗ✧✿)
