Lake Lewisia #574
Aug. 28th, 2020 07:02 pmThe nickname of flash flood mobs might have originally been intended as an insult, or at least as an attempt to highlight the occasionally pro-disaster leanings of the attendees, but it stuck around long enough to become simply accurate. They congregated in the midst of windstorms and downpours, flying kites on reinforced strings or simply dancing in the rain. The elders of the loosely organized group--many descendants of the old rainbow hunters--could predict the location and size of a cloud burst down to the inch, and the advent of social media made it easier than ever for huge groups to assemble wherever those odd skills pointed them.
