Twenty-five degrees overnight. Yikes. We've added blankets and lights to all the usual plant areas. I've moved some of the historically vulnerable ones into the house, but I genuinely have no idea if I've picked all the right ones. I'll be frantically checking them every day when I get home to see if they're looking worse for wear, but by then it could be too late. I don't mind winter by any means, but the first cold snap of the season is invariably terrifying.

Meanwhile, I got to spend most of the workday doing something quiet in the isolation room. I needed to demonstrate my ability to do it for a training sign-off, which has now been submitted. It's just for my secondary training, so the pay bump is tiny, but hey, neat! It made for a very chill day, much welcomed after the last few weeks of bonkers at work.

Recently there has been an unforeseen uptick in public celebrations of all sorts, so we on the City Council would like to take a moment to remind everyone: we fully endorse this behavior. Whether you are celebrating a private triumph the details of which no other soul will ever know, or a victory so significant that beings in other planes of existence have felt the ripples through the universe, give your time and your hearts to joy whenever it comes to you. You may dance in the streets or you may smile quietly in the mirror, howl to the moon or whisper to the blades of grass, but however and wherefore you celebrate, know that our spirits rejoice with yours.
