Today's Keyboard Smash

My current streak of not crying at work remains unbroken, but only barely. Every now and then, these machines like to remind us that they run as much on magic as on electricity and silicone. Thus, they are not obligated to adhere to petty things like logic, physics, or general decency. What makes it worse is, after getting help to try to solve the problem, neither of us really understands what made it work or why. It just...decided it was done fucking with me, basically. Ran perfectly the rest of the day, which at least gave me time to make up for the hours it wasn't running at all.

Favorite coworker regaled me with a story of arguing with their partner over whether or not to get chickens. That meant I left the production floor happy, at least, which saved the day for me. Makes it easier to ignore the fact that I'll have to go back and do it all over again tomorrow.
