Today's Keyboard Smash
Feb. 26th, 2021 05:10 pmOkay, the podcast-adjacent rants are over (for now), because I haven't been listening to any today. Today, I work in Lewisia. Y'all--guys--friends--
I have an entire month of Lewisia posts already queued up. March is locked in. That post listing is very beautiful to look at and fills my soul with ease. I still need to queue up the bonus for March, but I'm still vaguely tinkering with that one. If I could sort out how automation works, I could set it up so the tumblr posts would be automatically converted to DW posts. Then I could be abducted by aliens for a whole month and still not fall behind on anything!
...look, I like failsafes. So sue me.
I also made some headway in the April bonus planning. (What's that, you say? Monthly bonuses? *pleased little gremlin noises*) If I work hard, I can get that one drafted out and have a whole two months of padding for bonuses as well. Two whole months!
Part of why I didn't want to take on overtime this weekend was so I could get these last pieces in place before starting up again for March. Life happens, and sometimes I can't get things done when I expect or want to. But I also know that once I've set a schedule of deadlines for myself like this, I will do everything short of gnawing my own legs off to make sure it happens as planned. Better to give myself some insurance now than to gnaw later.
My focus all morning was largely thanks to a combination of slightly too hot apricot tea with cream as a special treat and listening to Louie Zong's music. Particularly "All We Got," which is exactly the sort of rhythmic, groovy weirdness that lets me get in a flow state.
