Today's Keyboard Smash

Now that we're starting the strip the carcass, I can make things like chicken salad with miscellaneous bits and no one will get mad at me for using things that were ~supposed to be for dinner~. I have a long-standing frustration about how there are always secret plans for dinner and forbidden reserves of food. Muhuhaha, my chicken now!
It's possible that I should have, I don't know, learned literally anything about embroidery before becoming deeply invested in using it for projects. I am struggling to find a way to lay out a grid of French knots on a shirt, which will be the basis for a pattern of embellishments. And do you think I can get a consistent distance on any of them fuckers? Hell no! Because obviously, I'm somehow stretching the fabric while I work and distorting it. I'm gonna try making a template patch on grid paper so I can lay the shirt flat and try again. Fortunately, I am probably capable of out-stubborning a goddamn shirt.
These, by the way, are the sorts of problems I'm ruminating on while I continue to run The Most Boring Job. I am also listening to podcasts and building a tiny tower out of scrap material, at a coworker's suggestion. And all that is almost enough to keep my brain stimulated.
