Ah, a nice day! Having surprised mum with my day off, we turned her planned trip into town into a slightly more indulgent trip into town. We took the long backroad home, slowly and with much discussion of the relative merits of various types of trees we saw and might like to plant.
The mechanic came and picked up the tractor for what will be the final stage of the current repair project on it. I have had no part whatsoever in arranging any of the parts and assembly and more parts and installation. That is Not My Department. My department is billing, so I just write the (literal and metaphorical, as needed) checks, which is exactly how I wanted this to work. I'm very excited for it to come back whole and ready for work, and I don't even use the thing. Mum is...mostly nervous, actually, on the grounds that her beloved tractor is out of her sight and being tinkered with. It'll be good, though.
I have now ordered a second shipment of books, while the first set is still being processed. There are just a lot of books I want right now. And I'm getting more blasé/confident/whatever about just up and buying these things I want. I'm not watching tv or movies, so books, podcasts, and video games really are all my story/entertainment sources at this point.
And finally, I used my new weed extraction tool, joyfully and aggressively, out in the cottage garden. This weekend*, I'll possibly plant more things. At the very least, I'll get the tire planters ready for the stuff that's been hiding in the greenhouse.
*I am now convinced it is Sunday. I did not work today, but I do work tomorrow. Therefore, it could only possibly be a Sunday, right? Logic!
