Lake Lewisia #676
May. 21st, 2021 09:16 pmThat stretch of forest was young, having been replanted during the first big rewilding effort in the sixties, when people got the idea to start reclaiming land on the edges of their town's control. It stretched lanky and uneven, given to spotty ponds in the low lying areas, but it was rather proud of the stand of saplings it had managed to grow along the southern end. The mood swings were the worst for all involved, bursts of anger when it would withdraw, locking branches up tight against visitors and ejecting confused birds and possums into the fields.
