Volunteers are still needed to help with the beach clean-up day planned for this Saturday out at Rocky Head Beach, organized by the ecology department at the community college. Trash and other debris poses a risk to animals, plants and visitors to the beach, so these events will be going on monthly during the height of summer when the beaches see more traffic and need more care. Whether you just want to fill up a bag with litter from the sand or have the skills to help bewitch abandoned fishing nets into returning to shore for removal, you can help keep the beaches safe for all.
