It was difficult to restrain herself to a single reality channel when around others, but doing otherwise seemed to disturb people who couldn't see all the other places she went, all the other versions of them she talked to. No one found it reassuring for her to come up with answers to their questions by slipping sideways into a reality where they had figured out the problem and just asking them how. So she waited until the end of day, until she could be alone with all her multitudes, like a light finally able to refract into its full rainbow spectrum.
