Lake Lewisia #744
Oct. 27th, 2021 06:47 pmThe morning dawned red and grey, a sky of ash and a wind of smoke, and it settled heavy and choking over the town and the forest around it. Every eye teared, not with the haze but with the memory of lush summers lost, the phantom rustle of leaves passing just out of hearing around every corner. Somewhere in the world, a forest had burned--whether gone up to wildfire or to industry, it didn't matter--and its ghosts had come to haunt their kin.
