The runoff water wheel project had expanded over the years, especially after a partnership had been established with the representatives of the Small Folk to ensure safety for those who traveled those seasonal waterways. Now the first-years, in addition to their safety checks, conducted a yearly sale of the energy sinks to raise funds for the project, usually haranguing a few of the business and marketing students into helping with the advertising efforts. For those whose magical activities required a little external energy boost, the sales were an affordable alternative to blood sacrifices, and one clever second year had even started a crystal recycling branch for extra credit.
