Sometimes, the Beacon House gave out small mirrors to visitors, selected from among the countless prismatic hosts of such items that made up the shining structure. These were not mere souvenirs, branded keychains and fridge magnets and commemorative spoons that could be purchased in a gift shop as proof of having attended some place of significance. It was just that sometimes, the keepers of the house met someone who was meant to be a lighthouse themselves, who carried an unfailing flame in their heart, and it was part of their job to give such people their first tool for making of themselves a beacon as well, something that would show others danger and safety both.
