Done This Week
Oct. 9th, 2022 09:51 amAPPARENTLY I'm doing NaNoWriMo a month early or something?!
Σ(っ °Д °;)っ
No, seriously, I had no idea that I would be writing a minimum of 1700 words for each Whumptober piece. I didn't know that was an option--I assumed D E A T H would have already come for me at this point. I've been writing almost exclusively three-sentence microfiction for years now! Friday's story alone was almost 4k! WTF!
Have I been messing up my sleep schedule all weekend to keep up with this? Absolutely! Do I now jealously covet my work breaks for writing? Fuck yes! Have I abandoned the concept of reading anything because there aren't enough hours in the day? Unfortunately yes!
I do not expect this to be a pace I can sustain long term. But I only need to sustain it for a month. And you know what? I am having the best damn time I've had in ages. A month of burning the candle at both ends for the sake of fun is a worthwhile tradeoff.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces written, all October posts queued
Gratitude journaling: 35 new entries
Tumblr queue: 52 posts added--someday, this surplus of ready-to-queue posts will save me a lot of time; I just don't know when that day is
Day job: 43.5 hours
Cooking: chocolate-chocolate chip cherry cookies *drool*
Gardening: pandemic garden club post
Listening: new music for Bandcamp Friday--new single Alchemist Eyes from S.J. Tucker (goth industrial, which, damn, that takes me back to high school), What Holds the World Together by The Wilderness Yet (Irish traditional folk), and Teenage Halloween by Teenage Halloween (queer punk)--an extremely mixed bag, genre-wise, and all three absolute slam-dunks for me
Whumptober: 7 days completed, 7 day posted, 17177 words written
