Lake Lewisia #889
Oct. 28th, 2022 05:32 pmDeath in the hive was a matter mostly of good housekeeping, the bodies of bees hoisted up by their sisters and deposited outside the hive entrance. Bees saved their ceremonies for other matters, danced into their days in service to their never-ending work. That most hives faced east, to the rising, warming sun, was perhaps only coincidence, but the ghosts of bees laid to rest there enjoyed the view regardless of intention and turned their faces to it like their beloved flowers.
