Fortunately, she had an in with the sort of folk who preserved the old arts of spinning straw into gold, and the project became a collaboration to spin something even more ephemeral and golden into a workable material. Just in time for spring warmth and weekend outings, she finished the sun dress: light spun and woven into something lighter than silk and brighter than sequins, twirling dawn around her knees.
