Done This Week

I need to stop tempting fate. I told my friend E (that’s the coworker-turned DM-turned best buddy) that the Universe should just go ahead and punch me in the kidneys while it was at it. And lo and behold, I developed a UTI (which I’ve never had before, so unlocked that badge) that made my kidneys feel very much punched.

Fortunately, I already had an appointment scheduled for my annual physical, so I could demand antibiotics. Unfortunately, that meant a twelve-hour day of driving.

Imagine for me, for a moment, the experience of driving for twelve hours, sick to the point of nausea from an infection, constantly hyperaware of the state of your bladder, and you’re trans, so you can only use single-stall, gender-neutral bathrooms. It is a special sort of torture.

I don’t need this. This, of all things, I have no need of.

Lewisia: 3 new pieces written

Day job: 36 hours, striking a terrible balance between staying late every day but taking Friday off

Gardening: garden club post, succulent club meeting

Listening: Everything That Hurts by Equal Creatures (I had already gotten the two singles released off this album, and the rest did not disappoint, plus they were the first band I got a patch for, so I’m planning on life-long dedication), Iceland by Louie Zong (just needed an extra dose of chill this week)

Aftermarket Parts: finally heard from the surgical concierge assigned to me, waiting for the insurance response *fingers crossed*

Other: doctor’s appointment and hometown trip
