Done This Week
Jun. 23rd, 2024 11:35 amFive straight days off work has done me something resembling good. I didn’t go out even once. I just hardcore homebodied the whole time. Messed about with my plants and read books and played video games.
Dad went in for a third transfusion. The hematologist finally moved his appointment up from a month away to this next week. I would have more sympathy if he wasn’t being such a rank bastard to my mum about the finer points of her waiting on him hand and foot.
The pachypodium has even more flowers now. I’m trying an experiment with putting a small succulent out with one of the trees in the wildflower garden to see if it survives (it’s a pup of a larger one). It was nice getting to settle in and play games long enough to actually follow the storyline and make progress. I found out the local indie theater will be showing all the Mad Max movies in July, so I’m making plans to attend. The plums are starting to ripen.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces written
Day job: 17.5 hours, between a holiday and mandatory days off #4 and 5 of 5
Cooking: this black forest cake more or less (spectacularly delicious, used a tart cherry spread from Trader Joe’s for the filling)
Crafting: darned some more socks
Gardening: repotted a bunch more succulents, weeded in an attempt to salvage the castle garden
Reading: finished Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett (not one of the books specifically designed to put my heart in a chokehold, but nonetheless capable of periodically kicking me in the kneecaps with profundity)
Listening: These Nuts by Ninja Sex Party (*cackles* song after song for anxious weirdos)
Playing: picked up Cozy Grove on sale after having it on my wishlist for ages (super cute, love the art style, easy to get lost in the game for ages), trying Ooblets again after bouncing off it the first time I played it (finding the controls easier this time, enjoying the very specific sort of Millennial absurdist humor)
