Done This Week
Jul. 14th, 2024 10:24 amFinally got the transmission replaced in my car. It drives weird still, but I guess I’ll just have to get used to it. Oh, and it cost well over double what I had been expecting. Yay.
I thought I was going to a Renaissance Festival this weekend. Turns out I had the date wrong for the past, oh, three months. I mean, at least it was wrong in the preferable direction--which is to say, I didn’t miss the event. But I had been juggling a bunch of stuff around to be able to go, so the sudden absence of pressure was confusing.
My dad has officially been diagnosed with leukemia. They’re giving him a month to live. Not much to be done, because he’s too weak to try any aggressive course of action. Just continue the weekly blood transfusions and provide more pain management options. He swings wildly between lucidity and howling disorientation.
I found an arrangement of pillows that seems to be helping my back not murder me in the night.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces written
Day job: 42.75 hours
Crafting: darned more socks (possibly the only creative thing I do anymore…)
Reading: Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo (as;dfkj I loved it, I had been climbing the walls waiting for it to be available from the library so I could found out how it ended, so good)
Listening: based on a true story by Wrabel (lovely, this is a sort of male vocal that scratches a particular sonic itch for me when I encounter it)
Other: unloaded hay
