Done This Week

Renaissance Festival: this time, definitely. It was even busier than last year, and I probably should have arrived earlier than I did. But I got to see both rounds of Knight Fights, which is the only scheduled thing I cared about. I also gave up on the food stall that has let me down the past two years and focused my line-standing efforts elsewhere. It was a good, if very tiring day. None of my coworkers where able to go with me, but I didn’t mind wandering about on my own.

My half-sister and her husband came out to visit with dad several times during the week. He’s an insufferable chatterbox, but she focused on having meaningful time with dad. And she was kind to mum about how well mum is caring for dad. Considering they haven’t gotten along well through the years, that meant a lot to mum.

I saw a thrasher at work--they’re an uncommon bird and quite fun to spot. There was also a whole flock of quail. I got a cute teacup and saucer with mushrooms on it from a local ceramics artist at the Ren Faire.

Day job: 42.5 hours
