Done This Week
Aug. 11th, 2024 09:02 amWhile things at home continue to adhere to the routine, work has devolved into chaos. Without getting too far into the weeds, multiple pieces of equipment have been damaged, possibly all by the same person. This person has then lied about how it went down, to my face and others. I have then documented, in writing and on video, that things don’t work like that. Even though I’m not involved in the personnel aspect of the situation, I’m having to consult on it daily as the equipment expert.
I hate being involved in personnel disputes. I don’t do people. I do machines. But I also hate being lied to, especially about my machines and why they’re suddenly broken. So I am stuck in the middle of this whole mess.
Consequently, my mental health this week has been the worst it’s been in probably years. Just a black pit of despair because every day is relentlessly awful. And there isn’t really anything I can do to alleviate the awfulness, short of skipping work, which. No.
I did carve out time to go to the movies on Friday to escape for a while. And I got a crochet pattern book from the library, which my coworker A has also been working from, so we can talk about it.
Lewisia: 3 new pieces written, queued up the month’s posts
Day job: 42.5 hours, arguably the worst I’ve ever had at this job
Cooking: chocolate muffins (tasty if not especially inspiring, would try flavor add-ins/variations next time using the same base), my usual chicken curry recipe (which I am only capable of producing in the quantity “industrial vat” for some reason)
Gardening: garden club post
Watching: Deadpool & Wolverine (the amount of 90s X-Men et al references suggests I am very much the target audience, fun even though I’m not caught up on the MCU lore from the past several years at this point)
Listening: Good Together by Lake Street Dive (saw them performing on a weekend morning show and quite liked their funky sound)
Other: unloaded hay
