It had all started with a second-hand crockpot with runes scratched into the bottom of the enamel insert, which produced the best food she had ever tasted. Eventually, she figured out it was adding spices from her largely neglected and slightly dusty collection of jars, all on its own, when she left it bubbling away all day. Once she knew what to look for, she started tracking down more enhanced cookware, from coffee percolators to steamer baskets, and soon had a kitchen that cooked better than she ever could and only demanded payment in fresh ingredients.
