scrubjayspeaksIT ITCHES?!?!! Hi, sorry, just having a bout of untouchable itching under this cybertronic parasite strapped to my chest.
I keep having the irrational sensation that I shouldn't say things aloud, because I'm being recorded, and that's. Not what this is for??? I think my brain is still interpreting it as "device in shirt pocket," which I guess then becomes phone, which then becomes...live mic? I don't know, I've never kept my phone directly on my person in my life, I have no idea where this sensation is coming from. I did have a close call with ripping it off in the night when the edge of one of the wrist braces caught on it a bit. *sigh* I am a hazard to myself and others.
Meanwhile, I went grocery shopping today and have two, semi-related observations. First, they are now selling frozen turkeys and have displays of Thanksgiving fixings, and the seasonal aisle is now entirely dominated by Christmas shit. This gives me a case of the rage-sads, as it does every year. (Though I do love me a turkey...) Second, people are ramping up their shopping fuckheadery, after having settled down somewhat from their early-pandemic peak of absolute fuckwafflism. This bodes ill for the looming holiday season, which is apparently already upon us despite it NOT EVEN BEING HALLOWEEN YET.
It's just such peak late-stage capitalism, that we can't enjoy a single event without it being overlapped and overshadowed by the howling of commercial entities that we must begin the Purchasing Rituals for the next one. If it weren't such an established pattern, I would blame it on the understandable desire to rush headlong for the end of 2020 in the hopes that something better waits beyond it. But no. This is just another round of the same shit they've been doing for years. /grouchypaganrant
