scrubjayspeaksNice day, nice day~ I'm running a different stunningly boring job this week, made marginally less boring because I'm still learning how this particular machine, borrowed from another department, works. I'm away from everyone else, I don't have to think at all, and I have all the podcasts and audiobooks I could want.
Meanwhile, my mum is making the phone calls needed to get people started working on fixing her tractor. This is something I am giving her ("giving" here meaning "bankrolling") for her birthday. The tractor is vintage, so getting new or rebuilt parts for it can be complex. I am absolutely not going to run down the parts and labor on this, but I will cheerfully write the checks. I had to bully mum moderately to convince her that yes, I really am more than happy to do this for her and so she should stop politely demurring whilst crying over her dying tractor. This is an improvement.
And finally, after doing some grocery shopping yesterday, I have a fridge full of delicious fruits. I have now crammed several of each into my face in the form of a lime juice-doused fruit salad, which I was looking forward to all day. I am largely content.
