Anyone is welcome to comment with what they're growing right now, things they would like to try, problems they're encountering, and questions they have. Share resources, answer questions, shout encouragement.
As for myself...
This is going to be an image-heavy month. I have so much to show you guys. Everything has bloomed aggressively over the last month! Everything is also now nearly spent! *muffled sobbing* We've, uh, already had our first 100+ degree day here, so it's looking to be a short spring. But never mind that! Onward to the flowers!
Yet another aloe is going nuts with the giant stalks and the chandeliers of flowers. I really love this one's yellow tone--most of mine skew more toward red.
The insect life is ramping up, some of whom are more welcome than others.
This mad bastard is one of two snapdragons that, despite utter neglect over winter, managed to survive. While they theoretically can be perennial in my area, it, uh, didn't seem likely??? The other one hasn't bloomed yet, but it should be a black-red, if I remember correctly.
The wildflower garden has been full of all manner of things, but somehow blue and yellow have ended up being the dominant color scheme. Lupines and California bluebells and whatever this is, alongside dwarf goldfields and tidy tips.
And look: I even have a handsome visitor in town! Hanging out by thesoda fountain water faucet.
And finally, a special treat. This whole wildflower project has been an effort to give myself the flower fields from Howl's Moving Castle. I mean, yes, native wildlife, yes, support for pollinators, lovely. But that Ghibli lifestyle. So in that spirit, I've got thirty seconds of flower fields waving in the breeze (warring airships not included):
