Right, so, I have a ton to recap, but it's pretty light on the commentary. I'm gonna chuck the whole mess under one cut tag this time. If anybody has a strong opinion on that vs. the cut-per-show method, give me a bellow. Otherwise, I'm sticking with this out of pure laziness.

Kevin and Ursula Eat Cheap - episode 273 - Stubborn Regrets

Three hours. Three goddamn hours of sitting around the kitchen table eating questionable snacks with your irreverent buddies. What a good podcast. Also, Ursula described Gothic stories as "a romance between a girl and a house." My gosh, I have never been more solidly interested in a concept. Apparently, I need to find some really good Gothic Romances.

Tips and Tricks on How to Be Sick - episode 05 - Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome

Sound quality is a mess, but it's new and very much relevant to my interests.

Our Opinions Are Correct - episode 9 - Horror of the One Percent

See, I like this because I know fuck all about horror, especially movies, so it's a nice new genre primer mixed in.

Oh No! Lit Class - episode 38 - Hello from the Outside(rs)

...I had no idea this would go down the Anne Rice fandom wank path, but wow. I do remember reading this in high school and having a distinctly uneasy feeling, a sort of nervous "now kiss" whispered from within the closet.

The Art of Manliness - episode 418 - How to Get Unstuck

I got linked to a series of articles on this site about willpower, so I'm checking out the podcast. I...am not sure what I think about it. I am suspicious, but then, I did want to listen to it as a sort of masculinity spy.

Stuff They Don't Want You To Know - What is the Windsor hum?

See, I just really like all the mystery sound reports from around the world. Please don't let them all have reasonable explanations. Please let some of them be weird and otherworldly.

Weird Work - “I make ramen that helps people find their dreams."

Huh. It is...that weird combination of pretentious and earnest that I associate with Japanese misfits.

Alone In A Room With Invisible People - The Introductions

AAAAAAAAH! Hollycast! Holly is the best and has taught me most of what I know about writing and is one of my favorite people and has probably indirectly saved my life at least once and AAAAAAAAAAA I get to listen to her chat away! :DDDDD

The Black Tapes - episode 101 - A Tale of Two Tapes Part I

Hooooly fishsticks, yes, I am into this one.

I Only Listen to the Mountain Goats - episode 5 - Fault Lines

I just really enjoy these behind the scenes, creative process, retrospective things. Also, covers.

Good Morning Night Vale - Station Management

It's been so long since I caught up on Night Vale, so the recaps are fun. It's been long enough now that I think this qualifies as nostalgic. And picking apart the way clues were laid down early (deliberately or not) for later developments is great storytelling training.

Says Who? - episode 55 - I really related to Maureen's little rant about how she resents having to know about this (the Devon Nunes report). That it pisses her off that she had to put these details into her brain and now they live there, and she's not interested in having to read reports about it all over again. I get that.

99% Invisible - episode 316 - The Shipping Forecast

The Shipping Forecast is exactly the sort of thing I like to listen to when sleeping to manage my anxiety. Also, it took years before I realized that the woman on Chumbawamba's "Good Ship Lifestyle" is reciting sea areas from the Shipping Forecast. Now we're really talking nostalgia.

Wired - "When in Nature, Google Lens Does What the Human Brain Can't"

Goddamn, that actually makes me want one. Automatic species identification would be delightful.

Brain Stuff - "What Are Vampire Squid?", "What Kind of Dinos Did Today's Birds Evolve From?" & "What Did Our Ancestors Really Eat?"

Miscellaneous "nature and the past are weird" pieces of just a few minutes each. Palate cleansers.

Movies: A Wrinkle In Time

I'm not saying it's perfect, but damn, it's very much designed to please me. I cry within the first few seconds every time and just keep doing so throughout.
