Messages from the Garden

Now that I'm feeling better from my two-week bout of plague, I finally got out in the garden again. I repotted five plants, sowed a dozen seeds, and watered everyone. The plants brought into my bedroom during the hard freeze are recovering. Out of 20, 3 may be lost causes, another 6 are uncertain, and the rest look likely to survive.
In the spring, I collected seeds from my False Sea Onion/Pregnant Onion (ornithogalum caudatum).

I've been holding onto them until I had the will to try propagating them. Pregnant onion gets its name from the babies that sprout along the bulb, under the papery outer layers. I've got several babies from this that will need to be transplanted once the weather settles down.

Will the seeds produce plants? I...have no idea. I've propagated from seed once before--Aloe vaombe--and the surviving seedling got transplanted today. So hey, there's that success! *\o/*

The echevaria "Neon Breakers" is pupping. Happy plant!

The stapelia mutabilis is going to bloom again. I've never spotted an unopened bloom before; it's the green-striped pod shape in the upper right.

It will be a sort of dark brown and yellow star when it opens. It's a type of carrion flower. It has outgrown yet another planter. If I give it a better house, the next flowers might overhang the edge and show themselves a bit more.
