Almost as soon as winter hit and the collected hats, and scarves, and sweaters had been distributed to those in need, production for next winter began in earnest in the back room of Norma’s Fabrics. Knitters and crocheters, spinners and weavers all congregated with cups of coffee and moving needles to create soft, warm things for anyone who would be cold and lonely come next winter, even as the worst of this season began to chill the town. Donated and shareable materials were sorted into baskets according to type: here wool and angora and alpaca from local farms, there phoenix down and unicorn tail and shed salamander scale gathered from the wild.
