As a band, they hustled all around the state, up and down the coast, across reality lines–wherever they could find open mics and willing ears and generous wallets–but they still always came home eventually. While the Frog and Opal had scheduled band nights and open mics, they also had a standing reservation for this band, which had formed at the bar after closing time many years prior. Moreover, other bands were generally happy to share the stage unexpectedly with them, as there would often be a new instrument or technique, picked up during their travels, up for admiration and borrowing.
